Quick Tip:
Direct your balance to the outside
turning ski.
Why: To create balance over both feet.
When: Throughout the turn.
Sensation Indicator: You should feel more pressure on the bottom of the
outside foot.
Visual indicator: The inside leg is shorter than the outside leg
Drill: What we want is to have the shoulders level to the horizon
throughout the turn. Hold your poles out in front of you, at shoulder
height with your arms straight. If we have our poles held at shoulder
height and arms held straight the poles will give you a good visual
indicator if they are staying level throughout the turn. Do this drill
while skiing in a medium radius turn.
